Review: Papa Recipe Bombee Honey Masks

papa recipe bombee honey masks

Today I will be reviewing two types of paper sheet masks called Papa Recipe from Korea. The white one Bombee Whitening Honey and the black one Bombee Black Honey.

If you are not familiar with paper sheet masks, they are basically just a sheet mask that is soaked with serum and you put it on your face for approximately 15-30 mins. When you are done, (this is very important) make sure you do not rinse your face after! Just follow with your regular skincare routine and you are done! Besides paper masks, there are hydrogel masks as well (which I will discuss in a separate post). They usually cost slightly more but the effect is better. If you are on a budget, paper sheet masks work great too! Now let’s talk about these two Papa Recipe masks.

Papa Recipe Bombee Whitening Honey Mask Pack
Ingredients
Water, Glycerin, Niacinamide, Dipropylene Glycol, Methylpropanediol, Propanediol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, PVM/MA Copolymer, Trehalose, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Panthenol, Carbomer, Arginine, Disodium EDTA, Allantoin, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Honey Extract, Propolis Extract, Royal Jelly Extract, Diamond Powder, Gluthathione, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Schizandra Chinensis Fruit Extract, Coptis Japonica Root Extract, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Acorus Calamus Root Extract, Perilla Ocymoides Leaf Extract, Fragrance

It contains diamond powder that claims to brighten your skin. It uses organic honey to nourish and moisturize. My first impression after I removed the mask is the increased hydration and the brightening effect. It is very moisturizing but not in a greasy heavy way. I believe it is suitable for all skin types because even oily skin needs hydration too. It is very soothing as well so if you have sensitive skin, it calms the redness right down. The effect lasts about 2-3 days.

Ingredients
Water, Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol, Methylpropanediol, Propanediol, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, PVM/MA Copolymer, Trehalose, Polysorbate 20, Panthenol, Carbomer, Arginine, Disodium EDTA, Allantoin, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Royal Jelly Extract, Propolis Extract, Honey Extract, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Ceramide NP, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cholesterol, Peat Water, Butylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Caprylyl Glycol, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Schizandra Chinensis Fruit Extract, Coptis Japonica Root Extract, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Acorus Calamus Root Extract, Perilla Ocymoides Leaf Extract, Fragrance

It claims to deeply moisturize and strengthen your skin. The sheet itself is black in color perhaps from the black honey. My first impression with it is the increased hydration but I do not seem to notice much brightening effect. It moisturizes the same way as the whitening honey mask. One thing I do not like about this mask is the tiny black bits that got stuck on my face after and I am not too certain what they are exactly. They could be the black honey itself but they are in solid pieces. There is nothing like this from the whitening mask.

In conclusion, I picked the whitening honey over the black honey as it does more in the brightening department and costs slightly less. I think sheet masks are a great way to boost your skin’s hydration level which is very important. I recommend masking at least 1-2x a week. If you have never tried sheet masks before, I strongly suggest you try it as you will not regret it!

  3. Great review ! I have tried the original Papa Recipe Bombee Honey sheet mask, and its one of my favs to use ! ! From just looking at the ingredient list I would probably choose the whitening sheet mask over the black honey as well πŸ˜€
